Overview
A globally recognized public figure and advocate was launching a first investment fund, dedicated to advancing gender equity through women's sports and targeting commitments of $200 million. The materials had to present a first-time fund manager as a credible institutional investor to the large family offices and institutional partners she was raising from, while living up to a personal brand built over years in public life. Her existing materials could not carry that. They were too corporate, felt dated, and were out of step with the founder's identity, and they were not something she could take to market.
A critical meeting was already on the calendar, which left two unattractive options. She could reschedule and risk looking unprepared to a serious investor she had worked hard to get in front of, or she could keep the meeting and present materials that would undercut her credibility as a first-time manager at the exact moment it mattered most.
The Mandate
VERBED was engaged to professionalise every element of the presentation, working alongside advisors of the highest tier and against the deadline the meeting demanded. We integrated the founder's brand with the structure, data presentation, and polish institutional investors expect, so the materials matched both the scale of the opportunity and the standing of the person behind it.
Outcome
The founder kept her meeting and presented materials worthy of the opportunity and of the reputation behind them, sitting across from serious institutional investors with the credibility of an established manager rather than a first-time one.
